.: DJ $CREAM Biography :.

Hailing from Decatur, Georgia, DJ SCREAM first emerged on the hip-hop scene in 1994, after being influenced by DJ NINO who introduced him to turntable fundamentals such as mixing and scratching. With a pair of second hand Pioneer turntables and a crate of records, SCREAM practiced relentlessly, quickly developing a unique style all of his own. Since those days, DJ SCREAM has become an affiliate of Tastemaker DJ's, Hitmen Productions and Certified Crunk DJ's.

DJ SCREAM gives props when they are due which is evident on his coveted CD's filled with several exclusive freestyles from rap luminaries and up and coming artists. SCREAM's flavor packed CD's comprised of unreleased material, original remix style blends and live recorded freestyles-distinguished themselves from all others on the market, earning him a huge following and an unrivaled street rep. Streets classics such as: As We Proceed (I-III) Underground Mixes, In Tha Club (I-III) Dirty South Mixes, Da Collabo Hip-Hop Mix CD w/ DJ Caesar, Only The Crunk Survive (I-V) Dirty South Mixes and Off The Meter Hip-Hop/R&B Mixes have circulated throughout the southeastern region, serving as an infallible barometer for one of the south's hottest DJ's.

Apparently, others were convinced of his confident predictability and ears for good music, which led to a regular spot as a mixshow jock on college radio stations such as WRAS-FM 88.5 (The 100,000 Watt Student Run Station for Georgia State University) and WEGL-FM 91.1 (The Student Voice of Auburn University). While attending the prestigious HBCU Tuskegee University as a Mathematics major, he alongside fellow Hitmen Productions member DJ Caesar, were credited for bringing diversity to a club scene where many felt a need for change. This eventually led him to becoming a tour DJ for the highly respected R&B superstar Montell Jordan. When asked what type of DJ he is, SCREAM, simply responds, " I try to be an all-around DJ, some people focus on turntablism, battling, mixtapes, radio or parties." "I'm the type of DJ who does a little of everything", he adds.

When DJ SCREAM finally released "The Only The Crunk Survive Mix Series" in 2003, it was perhaps no surprise when unprecedented fanfare ensued. The Dirty South hip-hop community championed him as a stellar DJ, and justifiably so. The passion for the streets that had fueled his early work is still evident for those who are fortunate enough to attend a DJ SCREAM party.

After breaking into the mixtape game and enjoying mainstream success in the music medium, DJ SCREAM seeks to explore alternate avenues to leverage his success. He plans to have a mixshow slot on commercial radio as well as to venture off into producing. So, keep your ears closely pinned to the rumblings on the dirty south streets--more than likely it'll be DJ SCREAM representing "The Crunk Survivors."
